Santa Isn't Coming Kids.....

Well, Hello again, its been awhile since we have posted and I apologize. Its not at all that we have forgotten about you but life and adulting have gotten in our way. Running a household, working, maintaining our health has all gotten in our way! Can you believe it, doesn't the world know this blog is way more important than anything? Sheesh get it together! Any who.....on to our next topic. The holidays.

Most parents during this time experience the highest level of stress they have all year and for what? To create the perfect family get together, to make sure Santa gives the kids everything they wished for. How about to decorate perfectly or take that perfect family photo? This morning I thought to myself, what if SANTA DOESNT COME AT ALL?

This is a legitimate thought, we all have had it, don't deny it, its ok.

How truly tragic would it be for your kids to wake up and not have a single gift under the tree? Would they remember it? Well of course they would, and truthfully since my kids are exactly like me they would remember it until they are 32 and still hold it against me for the rest of their lives, like I do with the cleaning lists my mom created. Morally, I voted against Santa not coming; with a shit ton of gifts, that turn in to a shit ton of wrapping paper and garbage, This year, Im asking Santa for something, peace...I want Santa to bring experiences, memories, things that don't collect dust.

and maybe a few gifts *preferably pre-wrapped*. My wheels started turning as the husband and I were shopping and seriously struggling to find stuff the kids would like and we have 5 KIDS to buy for! Then I felt like we were just looking at stuff to fill the space under the Christmas Tree, I am done doing that, because the space under the Christmas tree that we try so hard to fill then becomes clutter and mess that never gets played with. Now the question remains, how do I do this without ruining my children lives.... This is where all our loyal followers come into play. How can we as parents give our kids a GREAT Christmas without 5 million gifts? Ive thought of a few ideas but the struggle is real.

1: Coal, just giving coal is a total opportunity to teach a lesson and memorable at that!

2: Tickets to Disney on Ice? Although my son would NOT enjoy that!

3: Going Christmas Caroling? I should probably lip sync and let the kids take it away! This has potential to ruin your neighbors Christmas unless you are a future American Idol waiting to be discovered.. this is not the case for me!

4: Baking Christmas Cookies and hand delivering them? PEANUT ALLERGIES!!!! Agh!

5: Going to see a movie?

My question is, WHOSE COMING WITH ME?

What ideas do you have to create a magical MEMORY for your kids and family at Christmas? Help a sister out!
